Richard Ellison provides a full range of podiatry/chiropody services. This includes routine foot care, nail surgery, insoles & orthotics, biomechanics & diabetic foot care. All initial podiatry consultations include an assessment & treatment plan, always making sure you are happy & relaxed in the knowledge that you’re in safe hands. Richard is happy to give advice on how to help you look after your own feet as much as possible. Biomechanical Assessment
A biomechanical assessment looks at the way your feet & limbs work together. Pain in the feet, ankles, knees, hips or back can often be resolved with appropriate orthotics/insoles & exercises.
Ingrowing Toenails & Nail Surgery
We specialise in ingrowing toenails & nail surgery. We will expertly remove or treat the nail & advise on how to reduce the risk of recurrence.
Dry Skin & Cracked Heels
Cracked heels or heel fissures can be unsightly & painful. We’ll painlessly remove the dead skin & treat the heels, also giving you advice on ongoing care.
Bunions
Bunions can be very painful & affect mobility. We can advise on treatments, orthotics, insoles & bunion pads & discuss appropriate shoe wear.
Insoles & Orthotics
Insoles & orthotics can help with so many conditions, not just in the feet, but also in the knees, hips & back. After a thorough assessment, we will choose the right one for your condition.

Plantar Fasciitis & Heel Pain
Plantar fasciitis & heel pain can be frustrating & painful. We will assess you for the need for insoles/orthotics & advise on how to relieve the pain & speed up your recovery.
Achilles Tendon Disorders
Achilles tendon disorders such as achilles tendonitis often respond well to the use of carefully chosen orthotics & optimal footwear, along with specific stretching exercises.
Metatarsalgia & Ball of Foot Pain
Pain in the ball of your foot can have many causes, including arthritis, gout, bunions or simply wearing unsupportive footwear. We will assess the condition & treat or advise accordingly.
Hard Skin & Corn Removal
We will painlessly soften & remove corns, calluses & other areas of hard skin. We will also advise on corn prevention & ongoing protection.
Diabetic Foot Assessment & Care
Podiatrists play a key role in providing appropriate foot care & being vigilant for warning signs in people with diabetes. You can trust us to look after your feet.
Routine Nail Care
Routine cutting, reducing thickened toenails, fungal treatments… for when you already have a problem or if you just want to maintain healthy toenails.
Blisters
We’ve had the odd blister, but ongoing blisters can be tiresome. Blisters can be caused by incorrect footwear or the biomechanics of your feet/legs. We can help with ongoing blister problems.
Chemical Verruca Treatments
Chemical treatments or cryotherapy are often used as a preferred treatment courses for verrucas. They generally works much quicker than over the counter treatments.
